I purchased and installed this shift linkage for my 1997 F-250HD and it was a perfect fit. This is a very good value considering that a new linkage was dealer only up until a few years ago. Tools needed to remove/install the pivot bolt are either a 1" box wrench or a T55 torx bit. I did the replacement using the box wrench. If your linkage has already broken off, save yourself time by removing the shift linkage plate from the transmission first by taking off the two bolts holding the plate on. You can then unbolt the old pivot bolt from the plate while it's out from under the truck. For re-assembly, you'll have to bolt the plate back on first before installing the new linkage as the linkage will block access to the two bolts holding the plate on.
